Strath Show all done

Well the Strath show is over for the year and Jo and I both did really well. Jo received a first prize and two seconds and I received two seconds for our sewn goods.

We all had a bit of fun at the show and learned a bit more about the showing process.

Now to prepare for the Callington Show!!

Hope you are all well and enjoying the fabulous weather :)

Exciting times ahead

Just around the corner is the beautiful Strathalbyn Show. For those of you who aren't in the know about Strathalbyn, it is a gorgeous town in the Adelaide Hills packed with Antique Shops and quirky food outlets... oh and it has Kirkbrides Quilting shop!!

Anyway on the Monday of the October long weekend, the local agricultural show is being held and Jo and I are furiously finishing off projects to enter for judging. If you get the chance to pop in to the show it is a fun day out for both young and old and you could catch a glimpse of the types of projects Jo and I are working on!

Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather we are having in Adelaide!

Cheers
Kylie

spring is coming...

Well, we hope so! This wintery weather can get you down, what with the cold, constant drizzle, and feeling of lethargy. Whilst we don't want a return to Adelaide's famous heatwaves, just a little sunshine & warmth would go a long way.
On the creative front, there hasn't been much action. More theatre hats, some quilting, but our day jobs, parenting and running our households have kept us from doing all we'd like to. Most mums could relate to this. How do you make time for yourself in amongst it all? Suggestions/comments most welcome!
We will be entering the Strathalbyn Show, in October. Country shows are wonderful things to support:they are a great day out, perfect for kids, and it's lots of fun to see how your home made goodies go in the competition. We are entering quilts, bags, aprons, and our little darlings are entering some bantams in the junior poultry section. Wish us luck...

The Theatre hats

Hi just a quick post to show off the hats ! I hope their new owners love them as much as we loved making them :)
Have a fab weekend!

Busy days

It's it lovely to have something exciting to do? We are thrilled to be creating gorgeous, useful hand made wares, and getting a chance to tell you all about it.

Kylie is flat out making her fantastic theatre hats. There is no excuse for ugly/old/mass-produced ones now! Jo is having a ball inventing new tote bags, and both of us are making library bags too. With the burst of spring we are currently enjoying, we have no excuse not to get some photos up here for you to see.
We also have lots of new ideas we will be trialling over the coming months, along with plans to appear at markets and country shows. We would love it if you come over and say hi, we'd really like to meet you. We'll post details here as they are finalised.
Lastly, we are thrilled to say we have ordered the lovely labels for our products, and will be sure to show you when we get them. We are proud to make all our products ourselves, right here in the Adelaide Hills. We sew because we love to! May you have a passion you enjoy as much...(and we'd love to hear about it!)
